The translator

Seifeddine Baccar

Sworn Spanish · Arabic · French translator, based in Tunis, with over thirty years of experience.

A file rejected over one mistyped date costs more than a translation done properly.

A sworn translation is not an ordinary translation with a stamp added to it. It is a document the translator answers for before the office that receives it: every name, every date and every certificate number has to match the original exactly, and the layout has to let the clerk find each detail where they expect to find it.

That is the work I have done for over thirty years from my office in Tunis, mainly between Spanish and Arabic — a pairing with few sworn translators in Tunisia, and one where files too often take a detour through French that multiplies the errors.

I translate directly, proofread against the original, and tell you in advance whether the document you are sending will satisfy the office you are sending it to.

Common questions

What clients ask most

What is a sworn translation?
It is a translation the translator answers for before the office that receives it. Every page carries their stamp and signature, and every name, date and certificate number must match the original exactly. That is what gives it official standing.
Are your translations accepted by consulates and government offices?
Yes. My translations are accepted by Tunisian courts, consulates and government offices, in Tunisia and in Spain. If the document you send me may not satisfy the office it is going to, I tell you before starting.
Which languages do you work with?
Spanish, Arabic, French and English. Spanish and Arabic are translated directly, with no relay language in between — a detour that multiplies errors in official files.
How long does a quote take?
Twenty-four hours. Send a clear photo or a scan of the document and you get the price and the turnaround the next day, with no obligation.
How long have you been practising?
Over thirty years of sworn translation in Tunis, mainly between Spanish and Arabic — a pairing with few sworn translators in Tunisia.
Where are you, and how do I collect my translation?
The office is at 91 Boulevard 9 Avril 1938, Complexe El Soumoud, ground floor, 1006 Tunis. You can collect it, have it hand-delivered across Greater Tunis, or have it posted.
